If you are unable to find a drummer, here are some tips to find one by Googling. Ideally, a drummer will play Djembe drums (pronounced gem-bay) or congas. Doing a search on “African drums” will often lead you down a path that can lead to a drummer.

Guidelines for Paying Your Drummer
$60-$80: 45-60 Minute Classes of 30 Participants or Less
$100-$120: 45-60 Minute Classes of 30 Participants or More
Keep in mind that these are guidelines, but can be on a sliding scale depending on the drummer/percussionist. For instance, Bernadette pays Baba Don more because he is a “Master Drummer” and includes extras like chanting, variety of drums, etc.
